The last thing I will say - the characters we use become the very identity of this community. The BB was built on just a few characters. For many of us, the BB in itself has become super nostalgic. That's why we're here right now in our adult years.

To anyone reading this, you don't want to soil the legacy by using some obscure fucks. If you don't know the proper etiquette for new characters, don't do it. And if you do know the etiquette, follow it. Someday, we're going to look back on these.

Honestly, I don't care as much as I used to. I'm more of a legacy member in this community by this point. Savage and Skewt are leading the way now. They know why I have long suggested to keep character additions to a minimum and to only do it when it's a really worthwhile addition. If people want to add characters, that's on them. Anyone can make BB videos. I hope this community is inclusive. But at the same time, creators should know by now that tried and true characters work best.

Third, a lot of people feel the need to add characters who literally nobody gives a fuck about. A good BB character is someone we all recognize, preferably from our childhoods. It works best when you choose a character who we all have nostalgic memories of, but we never really associated them in that way. With the BB, we are ripping open these feelings of nostalgia and flooding them with new memories. When a creator chooses some obscure fuck from their favorite anime or whatever, it's awkward.

Second, adding new characters often leads to autistic fools creating BB videos in which they feel the need to have literally everyone under the sun participate in a "gay orgy". The video becomes a 10 minute long sequence of just reading a bunch of names. And it's just a bunch of faces copied onto a video. This was a big problem on YouTube. It led to some really low-tier videos. They weren't spam. They weren't amusing. They didn't serve any purpose. It was just pure autism in action.

A few problems arise though. If too many characters get added, then none of them matter. They are just new faces, and they don't really mean anything. One of the best aspects of the BB is when unsuspecting people come across these videos. When a classic character like Drew Pickles or Ronald, we all know what's up. But if some obscure character who only one guy was promoting, then we don't share a collective win.

On adding new characters - It's just such a fine line. On one hand, it can be fun to contribute to the community with your own ideas, and if you develop a new character, others may want to use them as well.
